75 gallon propogation tank
Size in Gallons: 75
Date Setup: 01/07/2007
Description: This tank, located in my bedroom is completely independent of the main display. This tank is primarily a soft and LPS coral propogation system. Half of the tank contains live rock where the soft coral "mother colonies" are kept. The other half contains pvc and eggcrate racks for display of frags. This tank also has a small number of fish (Yellow Tang, Engineer Goby, Black Sailfin Tang and three Green Chromis)for aesthetic value and to maintain a nutrient cycle. This tank is lit by two 175 watt XM 10K Halides retrofit into a PFO hood with two 48" VHO actinic bulbs. Filtration is conducted by a Fluval 404 canister filter and an Amiracle Miniquad HOB Protein Skimmer. Very basic stuff which appears to work given the relatively small bioload.
